Wiltshire Mags present:
Dafs, Pegs & Browner
Report by Dafs
A cracking day out at Fulham, only spoiled by the fact one of us had to drive as the Train strikes put paid to our plans of having ‘train cans’. Cheers Pegs for stepping up to the plate whilst me and Browner had some lucky cans of San Miggy/Miguels in the car. He always scores when one of these is drank on matchday. The in form Paraguayan didn’t let us down today either.
With the car parked at Ealing, and a pain free trip across to Fulham on the tube, we arrived at the Eight Bells Pub where we had a ten-minute wait outside and we were in. It was absolutely rammed inside but a cracking atmosphere.
A quick 15/20-minute walk to the ground, another pre-match pint and we were at our seats.
Within 30 minutes the game was over. A sending off for the home side, an injury to former mag Mitrovic, followed by goals from Wilson and Miggy killed the game.
That Miggy goal on the half hour was a thing of beauty, a quick one-two with Bruno on the edge of the box saw Bruno dink it over the defence and Miggy lash it in the top corner on the volley.
Another goal soon followed from Longstaff just before the break and 3-0 at half time was a suitable reward for the way we played.
The second half continued in the same vain as Miggy added a second, had a third goal ruled out for offside, as did Fraser late on too. 4-0 up and cruising, Fulham did manage to pull one back right at the end, but this was the easiest of victories I’ve seen in many a year.
Another packed away end following the toon, several renditions of Miggy’s song throughout the game and the first win since the opening day of the season which ultimately set us on our way to an amazing run leading up to the world cup.
